Cerberus Studios is a new production company for film, TV and new media, mainly focused in animation. The company is raised in Puebla, Mexico.
In Greek and Roman mythology, the Cerberus is a three-headed dog with a serpent's tail, a mane of snakes, and a lion's claws. He guards the entrance of the Hades to prevent the dead from escaping and the living from entering. Cerberus is featured in many works of ancient Greek and Roman literature and in works of both ancient and modern art and architecture. There are three stars in the tail in the Cetus constellation associated with Cerberus and the Hades gates, which forms the shape of a triangle. The triangle is the most simple shape polygon in geometry, is the meeting of three segments that determine three points of the plane. The meaning of the number three in numerology is associated with imagination, expressive communicators and artists. They are tolerant, joyful, optimistic, inspiring, talented, jovial, youthful and dynamic.
When I build this conceptual research, the first thought was designing the capital letter as a main and key element of the new brand. A personalized design was made, inside an inverted equilateral triangle, with claws inside as terminals details. Since that, I got the typographic style for making the other letters of the logo, with an unique and dynamic structure, recovering the terminals in the 'C' as serifs, but also with an organic touch, making a solid logo. The letter 'C' by itself, is a secondary element of the brand.
In the research of the basic stationery and the brand universe, I develop and designed a couple of personalized custom fonts from the type of the logo as auxiliar elements for some personalized uses and purposes.
Cerberus Studios, also made a new version of the cerberus illustration from his old logo, which complements the typographic logo that I designed. In order of the numerological concept, I laid out the typographic research fitting it into a triangle, and then the Cerberus illustration in an inverted triangle, making a hexagram, also known as David's Star, fitting them into the hexagon shape from the inside. In the antiquity and Middle Ages the number six was perceived as a symbolic number and mathematically "perfect".
